Private Work Fees

This Practice will charge for all non-NHS service/report/prescription (other than those excluded by The Department of Health) provided by any member of the practice team.

To ensure that all patients are treated equitably the team will follow the procedure.

To counter any accusations of impropriety doctors will never handle cash or take payments.
The receptionists only will handle payments. To reduce confusion/errors ‘Reception’ will control the process in its entirety.

The appointments at this practice are for clinical issues only administrative matters will not be dealt with in clinical time all such matters will be directed in the first instance to reception.

The practice follows the BMA guidelines with regards to fees

The following list is an example of services which will require a fee:

  • Travel Vaccinations
  • Medical Examinations for Insurance companies etc.
  • Passport Applications
  • Private Letters: mitigations, housing, fit to fly etc.
  • Private Sick Notes
  • Private Prescriptions
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • Malarone Tablets

Travel Health and Travel Vaccinaton service

Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate. Please telephone reception to book an appointment. 

Our nurses can provide travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.

Travel Assessment Form

We offer a full travel advice and immunisation service. If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit the travel form in plenty of time (we recommended 6-8 weeks) before your journey

Travel Vaccination Prices

Travel advice is covered by the NHS; however some vaccinations and prescriptions are only available privately. Payment for non-NHS services must be made at the first travel appointment.

Community Phlebotomy Clinic

Community Phlebotomy Clinic based in the health centre – Opening times are Monday and Thursdays from 09:00 until 12:30 – This is a Walk In Service. 

Baby Clinic

The clinic is appointment only.

If your child is due his/her next immunisation please book an appointment at the surgery. The baby immunisation clinics are on Mondays 13:30 -15:30 and Fridays 09:30-12:30.

Please bring your child’s immuinsation record book to your appointment.

Services within the Practice

For registered patients the practice provides the following services under the NHS:

  • New patient health checks
  • Cervical Screening
  • Routine/Emergency consultations with the doctor/ nurse
  • Contraception
  • Minor Ailment Consultations
  • Ante/post natal care
  • Smoking Cessation Advice
  • Dressings
  • Immunisations including childhood immunisations and flu and Pneumonia for patients over 65 and patients with chronic diseases
  • Regular check-ups for patients with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes etc.
  • Three year check-ups: if you do not suffer from a chronic disease it may be some time since you have seen a doctor or a nurse. Registered patients aged between 16 and 75 who have not been seen by a practice doctor or nurse in the last three years are advised to make an appointment for a three year check-up.
  • Over 75s annual check-up: if you are 75 or over and have not been seen by a practice nurse or doctor within the last twelve months, please make an appointment for your annual check-up.
